It seems that each new year we take stock of life and evaluate our accomplishments and failures. Some decide to try to make changes with lists of resolutions. And the crafters? We have piles of unfinished projects that we look around at and realize it's been another YEAR and we still haven't gotten them out of the UFO pile. STILL!
Well, that list seems to be ever evolving but some of my projects have been on it for multiple years. Don't worry, I won't list them for you. Or even show them to you. That would take a LOT of photos.
So I'll start this year's blogging by sharing one project that I've been working on for the better part of a year already that hopefully will see a completion in the next few months.
Hopefully.
At this point in life you'd think I'd know better than to be hopeful about quilting projects getting finished.
But I thought it deserved a share at the completion of over 200 blocks. 201 to be exact. Just need 41 more and I'll have enough for a king size quilt. It's all scrappy and happy and is the "rainbow rows" from the #apqquiltalong2015 pattern. So close to finishing.
So close. So far. Still a lot of work before this one is ON MY BED! Can you imagine? I've never made myself a bed quilt. My kids all have quilts. But a king still seemed like a lot of work and time and commitment. Good thing I picked a super quick project. HA! not.
Wish me luck finding some time to finish this one!
I love it even from this picture. :)

Courtyard Batik Quilt
Hello and good morning sunshine!
Have I got a new quilt to share.
Picture me sitting here lightly clapping my hands together really fast with a big cheese on my face.
There is something about color order that appeals to people (not just me, whew).
And a good strong graphic design.
And a perfectly sunny day without a cloud in the sky to snap some quilt-y goodness.
See?
Ahh, happy.

Fallen Leaves Quilt and Pattern
Have you seen this new line?
Lots of cuteness.
Applique table runner in Give Thanks by Deb Strain for Moda.
Modernized leaves.
Simple enough, no?
Some swirly quilting.
A little straight stitching too.
And done.
I LOVE applique.
I know, you already knew that... : )
And, for your sewing pleasure, a pattern.
In the shop.

Rainbow
So, the husband was doing dishes and casually mentions, "I'd get you a maid if I could afford it."
Me, "Really? That be great."
Husband: "Yeah. That way she could do all the quilting around here."
STINKER! Not such a subtle hint to stop sewing and clean the kitchen... ha!
So with all that time that I wasn't cleaning house, I finished the rainbow quilt. :)
This was soooo therapeutic!
I really never knew why people made scrap quilts (not all from the same jelly roll/charm pack/layer cake/etc.).
I have a very small stash of fabric compared to most quilters who sew from a stash of fabric that occupies a wall of shelves lined with beautiful fabric.
But I'm getting there slowly. hehe.
I really enjoyed the process of making something cohesive and beautiful out of "random scraps" like this.
I recommend it!
Bound and backed with the cheerful rainbow stripe and big circles from the Celebrate Seuss fabric line.
In the shop.

Just Wing It
Also to try this week, flying geese...
"Just Wing It" just made me think of it... and then I thought, "eh, why not?"
But when someone (momo) designs that beautiful of a fabric... it has to be a whole quilt back. HAS TO BE. haha.
They ended up at baby quilt size.

And to continue on with my new tiny half square triangle obsession...

A rainbow - also a first for me - in Just Wing It.
Love this one.
It's just so happy.
More later...
These are in the shop.

more coasters
More coasters... these are so addictive.
All in the shop too.
I'm currently in the debate on which project to start next... a quilt? large, medium, small? the christmas one? jelly roll? layer cake? Decisions, decisions...
It's a good thing - I'll never get bored with this hobby and it's limitless options.
