An Easter Dress in Ruby

Some Ruby and California Girl... I think.
It's been a while since I bought the fabric.
A little Easter dress for my princess. :)

Woohoo for one more thing on the "to do list" done before the twins arrive. :)

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone has had a fabulous Easter weekend.
I'm sure you spent yours doing similar things...
- coloring eggs (cleaning up dye messes)
- hunting for eggs (trying to remember how many eggs were hidden so there isn't a nasty mess somewhere in the future)
- getting dressed up for an extra special day at church (trying to contain out of control children for hours in a quiet room with plenty of judgmental eyes)
- spending time with family (slaving away in the kitchen while everyone complains that they are too hungry)
- etc.

So, I had these great Easter sewing plans.
Luckily I finished something.
Definitely have a bunch of half finished stuff lying about still though. :(
Maybe by next year?
Let's just say, "I doubt it." and leave it at that.
News of "things" to come soon - just not yet.
So anyway, back to the successful part of the story.
(I'm giving myself a B- this year for not finishing the quilt-y things I started.)

The only thing I couldn't live without... matching outfits for the kiddos.
I know.
I probably would have survived somehow, but it wouldn't have been pretty.
And another thing.
Boy clothing... takes a LOT of effort. I wouldn't say that any particular thing was "hard" just so dang many steps and pieces.
It would take a brave moment to decide to do it again.

More pictures on my other blog.
And the kids are actually looking at the camera in those pictures.
Well, some of them.
I take what I can get.

Birdies Skirt

This post is for Grandma.

She called me all excited one day about some awesome new Studio E Essentials fabric that was for sale at my LQS and asked how many yards I needed to sew a skirt for my little who.

Nevermind the fact that she can sew... :o)

And I finally got pictures of her wearing it.

I convinced her by telling her she didn't HAVE to smile.

LOVE those ruffled shorts underneath!
No panty exposure!
I'll get a picture of the other skirt asap... "p" being the operative part of that.

Child's Tote

Custom ordered child's tote.
My little who wants one too.
Back to the cutting table I go.
I think I should add a ruffled top...

Minnie Mouse Costume

A little dress sewing going on this last week...
And here's one of them - a Minnie Mouse Costume Dress with matching bag...
I'm debating posting a tutorial on how to make this little purse since I designed it this afternoon pretty quickly - always nice to make something cute and easy!
What do you think?

Finishing up for the Holidays

Nearly done for Christmas break...

The tote bags I made for the kids - Kallie and her adorable little friends (I made 6 but there are only 3 that weren't wrapped by the time I thought to snap a shot...) but I still need to put goodies in them for delivery.

And the gorgeous tree quilt!! After making the whole quilt once before (turned 90 such that the tree ran horizontally across the bed... ARRRGGHHH!!!!) I completed the second one just in time... And they are both beautiful, though the first would make a better wall hanging.

Not to worry, I will still be sewing on vacation. My mom has purchased a brand new Bernina 630 for me to use while I visit. What a mom!
