L'Amour

The end of a long imprisonment.
Fabric jailed away for years waiting.
Waiting for the moment when it finally gets center stage.
And something happens in minutes!
Okay, maybe hours.
But it seems so much happier now.

One honeybun of L'Amour by Sandy Gervais for Moda. One wire wreath. Valentine rag wreath.
Love the texture and colors. And it even says love on it.

Pink Lemonade

My newest creation in Pink Lemonade by Tonga Treats.

My little who wanted to help... so I let her be Icarus. It looks like she's already too close and her wings are just starting to burn.

And really, these batiks are BRILLIANT.

I see lots of things when I look at these colors.

Fire, sunsets, but mostly...

Starburst candies? Seriously, reminds me of the Starbursts color combination. So much so that I had to go eat some. Thank goodness Halloween just happened and I had plenty of selection to rifle through for just the right thing.

It ended up about 64" x 64" and it's in the shop

Blocks

So my cute little niece needed some blocks too.

Some of Kate Spain's Central Park would make even a crying baby happy, right? :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

I hope you have lots of quilting friends, friends you've made quilts for, and happy quilts (or at least fabric!) to make them feel extra loved today!

Cuzco

I've had a BLAST sewing this one.
Such vibrant colors.

A rainbow rectangular prism.

Fabric line is Cuzco by Kate Spain for Moda.
Love.
Makes me wish one of these babies was going to be a girl.

In the shop. SOLD.

Sew Stitchy in Hexagons

I finally got to sew.
A hexagon quilt in Sew Stitchy by Aneela Hoey for Moda.
And it's ever so cute!
I LOVE the little pins fabric.

My little guy REALLY wants to be a part of EVERYTHING I do these days.
I mean EVERYTHING.

The back is the hexagon print.
I found it particularly appropriate given the front.

It's in the shop.

Happy stitching this weekend!!

Vintage Modern

I made another orange peel Sashiko circles quilt this time in Vintage Modern by Bonnie and Camille for Moda.

If you want one too, you can download the free pattern on my blog in the right side column.

I decided to make this pattern with the charm pack I bought after I flipped through it and saw this backing fabric. :)

Applique makes me happy.

Favorite fabric in this line was the red on pink houndstooth print.
I bought some yardage of it for a future dress for the little princess.
Better get started on those projects too.
I would love to know if there ever was a quilter who finished ALL of their projects!

Coral Salt Air

I've been having fun this week with some half square triangles.
Specifically, the coral and gold colorways for the Salt Air by Cosmo Cricket for Moda.

This lantana and this fabric match almost too well!

The whole quilt.

Went with striped binding.
Love striped binding.

I took picure this just for an excuse to take the kids to the railroad tracks.
I love trains.

Yellow flowers on the back.
The straight line quilting shows up really well.

More beautiful blooms to match. :)

In good use :)

I just saw this on my friend's blog...
Always makes you feel good when your present (especially a quilt) is getting good use. :)

Happy day!
Now back to sewing.

Clementine

I had some more Clementine in the stash and thought it was about time it made it into a finished quilt.
You know, that fabric that sits in the little bin all by itself waiting.
For what? It doesn't know yet, because you don't know.
But it sits there.
Incubating.
And then one day it magically turns into a quilt!
Well, something like that anyway.

The binding is a purple stripe and the backing is a large flowers on pink print from the Amelia by Me and My Sister Designs.

That's what happens when you wait too long after a fabric line is released to get the backing/binding.
And Clementine was actually one of my very first purchases as a new quilter.
I think it was the third fabric line I ever sewed with... that seems like a long time ago.
I actually made this with it.
Well, two of those.
I gave one away to my mother-in-law... I think.
It predates the blog.
But this project was actually leftovers from this

Anyway, I ramble.
Oh, and it's 37" x 37" and in the shop.
